Shivdasani was born in to Prem and Putli Shivdasani.
His father is a while his mother is a Parsi. He has an older sister named Afsana Shivdasani.
He studied at St. Xavier's High School, (Fort) located at Lokamanya Tilak Marg in Mumbai. He then graduated from H. R.College of Commerce in
Shivdasani was selected as the Farex baby (Baby food brand) at age 14 months and from that point on he appeared in many TV commercials. He made his Bollywood debut as a child actor in (1987), then appearing in films such as
Shivdasani continued appearing in commercials till the age of 19 when he was offered a lead role in director (1999) while still studying at H.R. College. He won the 2000 for Best Male Debut for his performance.
After a gap of almost two years, Shivdasani made a comeback with (2001) and (2001). Shivdasani's following films included (2002), (2003), (2003), (2004), (2004), (2005) and (2006).
In 2009, Shivdasani appeared in Later, he worked in the first film produced under his production company, Rising Sun Entertainment. He helped co-write the script and also played the lead character, Mickey.
On August 14 and 15, 2010, Shivdasani participated as Grand Marshal at the Festival of India in Fremont, California.
